Garth Jones, Spiling a Pattern for Strake 3

Here I am on a very bright sunny day (yes, we get them in Pittsburgh!). I couldn't see my pencil line without the sun glasses. We have made patterns for each of the planks, and found it to be a great help. We made a spiling error with the garboards that would have been terrible to discover with the actual planks.

Tara Meyer, also Spiling a Pattern for Strake 3

Tara, here looking much less professorial. Several really long pieces of dimensional lumber on saw horses are not the best bench, but it worked all right. At least we have room to lay out long boards. Come to think of it, it's about 35' from the gates to the front door of the shop (the direction Tara is looking). A 35' schooner would be nice.....

And here we are together with the garboards
